eTown Hall in downtown Boulder, CO has a beautiful space on their first floor where we will be conducting a guitar workshop. The class will be tailored to the student's ability levels but focused towards intermediate players.
Space is limited, so sign up now to reserve a spot!
Here is what the workshop will focus on:
Left and right hand technique, finding ways to get our hands out of the way so that we can more fluidly use them. That will include, learning to use our weight rather than muscle, and to move easily between lead and rhythm playing.
Ear training (don't let that scare you!). We've all made up raging solos in our heads and then gone to the guitar only to realize we have no idea how to play them. I'll show you a few ways of beginning to dissolve the wall between what we hear in our heads and how to translate that to the fretboard. We'll talk a little about the importance of melody playing as well as improvisation.
Other topics we may touch on, as time allows: songwriting, accompanying yourself and others.
